Magnificent competition field with the beautiful natural scenery of the Kamnik Alps in sunny weather hosted 326 participants from 36 countries. Flag bearers of all participating countries, the arrival of the participants of the competition and a vibrant cultural program, joined everybody into a large family of archers full of energy and youthful enthusiasm. Old friends and long-time opponents met again, joined by inexperienced new contestants. And we believe that there are future Olympic champions among them.

After the welcome address by the President of the Slovenian Archery Association, mr. Leon Uratnik the WAE technical delegate mr. Hakan Cakiroglu, in the presence of ambassadors of four participating countries and other distinguished guests, solemnly opened the European Youth Championship 2014 in Ljubljana.

After the opening young athletes started with official training and equipment inspection.
